Episode 8: Mahesh Narayanan, Neuvation Ventures

On Episode 8 of the Aayaam 360 Podcast, I speak with Mahesh Narayanan, Managing Partner at Neuvation Ventures. The firm focuses on Medical Devices and Diagnostics within the Neuro space (Central Nervous System). What fuels the firm is Mahesh’s passion for this area. He studied Neuroscience for his graduate work, and his family has had a history of Neurological conditions.‍ ‍

Within Diagnostics, Neuvation would like to work with companies that can move diagnosis to earlier phases of the condition. For example, companies that can move Autism diagnosis from 6 years to 6 months, in order to prevent long-term side effects of the condition. From an innovation standpoint, Mahesh and his team are excited about the use of Machine Learning implementation within robotics and diagnostics, along with precision therapies such as Nano-mods, including nanorobots, nanoparticles, and nano-scaffolds.‍ ‍

One of their investments is in NeuroVRD, with their ‘Sentinel AI-IONM Platform that delivers AI-powered real-time feedback directly to the surgeon during high-risk surgeries.’ Neuvation recently also completed a follow-on investment into Tenzr Health, which provides gamified, sensor-based rehabilitation platform that connects patients and clinicians to improve musculoskeletal recovery in certain areas of the body.
